Client Challenge

The client had two prominent challenges:

  1. To understand disease and treatment burdens in polycythaemia vera (PV) across patient groups, generating data for a research paper supported by a steering committee
  2. The client’s PV therapy had been on the market for several years but faced low uptake. They needed to gather insights to guide launch strategy, understand switching behaviours and access barriers across 14 EU countries to support re-positioning of their therapy

Patient experiences with PV therapies varied widely:

  1. RarePulse® collected over 7,000 personal mentions related to PV & treament burden, using AI to identify and categorise key themes within the data
  2. From the mention data, P4A identified key burden themes and uncovered the drivers of positive and negative sentiment related to the four most prominent therapies for PV
  3. RarePulse® Insights were consolidated into a detailed final report including social listening dashboards

The Successful Outcome​

Actionable suggestions were provided to the client supporting improved therapy uptake with a rich dataset highlighting key burden themes was prepared for manuscript development:
