Identify parties willing to enter ​into a co-development deal with ​an early stage biotech developing ​2nd generation allo. CAR-Ts

The biotech had early clinical proof of concept data and now needed a partner to fund ​further development of their 2nd generation CAR-T platform that could be adapted ​for use in multiple oncology indications​

It was essential to find potential partners willing to engage with a transformational CAR-T with only limited clinical proof of concept data

P4A worked closely with the client to define the partner search criteria and develop a shortlist of potentially willing parties ​

P4A followed a structured approach grounded in ​secondary research and with frequent client touchpoints ​to ensure alignment throughout the engagement​
  • Workshop agree on a detailed set of partner search criteria​
  • An initial partner shortlist was developed​
  • P4A conducted early, blinded engagements with BD&L personnel in the shortlisted companies to gauge ​ willingness and refine the initial shortlist  ​
  • Developed a outreach plan to further qualify partners ​

The Successful Outcome​

  • With a view to speeding up development timelines and addressing unmet need, P4A made a case to pursue a co-development partner for the entire CAR-T platform and across indications​
  • Developed an initial list of 25 potential partners which were then filtered down to 6 potential partners based on their willingness to engage on a very early asset with limited data​
  • Identified ways to optimally communicate (oral and written) ​ the aspirational value of the CAR-T platform to potential partners ​
  • Identified pragmatic evidence ‘nice-to-haves’ to make the asset more attractive to potential partners​
